There is one easy way to get people to stare at a cause you are trying to promote: throw a hunky man in front of it.
George Clooney would qualify. The Hollywood megastar sold out an auditorium at Stanford University Monday night to educate Americans about the plight of the Sudanese.
The star of the "Oceans" series has been a longtime advocate for more American involvement with the ongoing crisis in Sudan. Monday he said he has no interest in turning his advocacy work into a political career.
He said he has no passion to get into politics because he feels he can be more effective as an advocate for political causes that he is passionate about. Monday he had a full house of young people to influence.
"Your voice in particular right now can save lives," he said. "And that's what's important and that's why we're here."
Clooney was joined by author John Prendergast to push a campaign to inform people about an upcoming referundum vote about whether the country should be split into two sovereign states.The vote takes place in January.
