Outside Lands has come and gone but for some the indigestion will live on.
The three day music festival in Golden Gate Park featured some of music's biggest acts (The Black Eyed Peas, Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews Band just to name a few) but Bay Area restaurants also served up some of their tastiest treats.
The organizers of Outside Lands say they pride themselves on honoring the Bay Area's love affair with food. And at this year's show there were 50 percent more local restaurants serving up tasty treats in the park than last year's inaugural show.
This year featured restaurants such as Dosa, Hog Island Oyster Company, Maverick, El Huarache Loco, Pacific Catch amongst others. And some did:
Top tastes included Venezuelan bites from Pica Pica Maize Kitchen, who served up arepas, cachapas, and yucca fries...Maverick’s Cincinnati Pulled Pork Sandwich was smoky, rich, and meaty, with just the right saucy tang, and crunchy slaw on top. And, the house-made potato chips were without a trace of grease.
A food enthusiast could have gone to the festival just to try ethnic cuisine from around the world and had a great time even if the music was disappointing. And of course they could afford a ticket.
