Facebook smartphones are coming, just not in the form many thought.
There will be no Facebook-branded phone this year like the Palo Alto-based social networking site has said all along but that doesn't mean there won't be Facebook phones after all.
Zuckerberg clarified comments his company made earlier in a recorded video statement during HTC's press conference at the Mobile World Congress.
"A lot's been made about a single Facebook phone," he said. "But this year you can expect to see dozens of phones with much deeper social integration than anything we've seen so far."
What the young face of Facebook is referring to is the dozens of smartphones set to be released this year that will feature a dedicated Facebook button.
HTC alone has two with the ChaCha and the Salsa. The phones are destined for AT&T's network later this year.
Facebook said in December that its focus for 2011 will be mobile and expanding the social network's presence on mobile devices.
