An online search box appeared at the top of Facebook pages for a short time leading one to wonder if the social network is planning to add it permanently in the near future.
If so, this could be big traffic for Google or Bing, or whoever is powering the search bar.
All Facebook speculates that Bing is the search force behind the scenes. Currently Google is the winner in the search engine wars, but if Facebook, which gets over 250 million daily hits, partners up with Bing, that could mean big traffic for the Microsoft engine.
Google shelled out hundreds of millions of dollars to be the MySpace search engine (back when anyone used MySpace) and it's speculated that Microsoft would be willing to do the same.
