No Internet to tweet in Egypt? No problem.
Google and Twitter have combined forces to release a service that allows protesters in Egypt to tweet without an Internet connection.
Last week Egypt's government turned the Internet off in its country because protesters calling for the ouster of President Hosni Mubarak were organizing using social-networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook.
The move did not deter protesters from continuing to flood the streets demanding more rights. But Google and Twitter are doing their part to help make life easier for protesters, who were given back their cell phone service over the weekend.
Speak to Tweet allows anyone with a voice connection to dial three international numbers and speak their tweet.
Their words will be transcribed and sent as a tweet with hash tag #egypt added to the 140 characters.
The numbers to speak a tweet +16504194196 or +390662207294 or +97316199855.
