Samsung is expected to build the first Android 4.0 phone called the "Nexus Prime."
The Android 4.0, also dubbed Ice Cream Sandwich, smartphone won't have physical keys but will have a 720-pixel display, according to Boy Genius Report. Rumors say the new phone will have a speedy new dual-core 1.25 GHz processor, front- and rear-facing cameras and come in an ultra-thin body.
This upcoming superphone will not have any carrier preloads or OEM customizations, which goes without saying for a Nexus phone or a reference/flagship Android offering. The current codename is “Prime”, and our source believes it’s possible that the phone could launch as the “Google Nexus Prime.” We also have information that Google’s onslaught of high-end Android devices isn’t going to stop anytime soon.
That last statement is definitely an educated guess, especially if someone has paid attention to how Google rolls out its Android devices.
If Android 4.0 is viable then the landslide of Ice Cream Sandwich handhelds will start appearing in late fall, just in time for the holiday shopping season.
