They'll be no sleep 'til Brooklyn for Beastie Boys fans worldwide due to a bit of good news regarding the health of one of the members of the seminal rap trio.
Adam Yauch, better known MCA, has been declared cancer-free, reports the Toronto Sun.
Eighteen months ago, Yauch was diagnosed with a tumor on his parotid gland, the largest of the salivary glands. The condition typically causes problems with eating and swallowing.
After having the tumor removed, MCA turned to a strict vegan diet and tried some Eastern medical treatments at the urging of Tibetan doctors and seems to have recovered, being given an "all-clear" by doctors.
His band mates were pleased with the news.
In an interview with BBC Radio 1, Mike D called the "all-clear" "a good thing" adding that "we're really happy about it."
Fans of the band can celebrate the news with the forthcoming release of a new album, Hot Sauce Committee, Part 2, this spring. The first part was delayed indefinitely once Yauch's tumor was discovered, but the band plans to go back and finish the album for a release as well.
