Please Hammer don't hurt 'em!
MC Hammer, the flamboyant 90s rapper best known for his glitzy attire and dance moves, announced his return to the hip-hop scene by attacking megastar Jay-Z in a new video, reports the New York Daily News.
In "Better Run Run," Hammer accuses Jay-Z of being a poseur and says that the reigning king of hip hop stole his "swagger." In the video, a man shown to be impersonating Jay-Z is seen running from a devil-like figure.
"I can see it in his eyes, the boy sold his soul. Devil said, I'mma give you the world, I'd take it, plus give me the girl," which is an apparent reference to Jigga's wife, Beyonce Knowles.
Why the beef between a megastar mogul and a hip-hop has been? It appears that Jay took a few swipes at the "U Can't Touch This" MC on "So Appalled," a track from Kanye West's forthcoming album.
"And Hammer went broke so you know I'm more focused/I lost 30 mil so I spent another 30/Cause unlike Hammer 30 million can't hurt me," he said, highlighting the fact that MC Hammer declared bankruptcy in 1996, despite selling millions of records.
