Just days after being hit with an indefinite suspension by MSNBC for violating company policy in regards to political donations, "Countdown" host Keith Olbermann will be reinstated Tuesday evening, reports CNN.
Olbermann was removed from the air November 5 after Politico broke news that he had donated to three Democratic candidates running for federal office.
"After several days of deliberation and discussion, I have determined that suspending Keith through and including Monday night's program is an appropriate punishment for his violation of our policy. We look forward to having him back on the air Tuesday night," said Phil Griffin, president of MSNBC.
The "Countdown" talker gave the maximum indvidual amount allowed by law - $2,400 - to the campaigns of Kentucky Senate candidate Jack Conway, and Arizona representatives Raul Grijalva and Gabrille Giffords. Conway lost to Tea Party favorite Rand Paul, while both Grijalva and Giffords won reelection by slim margins.
Olbermann violated an NBC policy that requires employees of the news organization to get prior permission before engaging in political activities or making donations to candidates because of potential conflicts of interest.
Olbermann made his first public statement since the suspension via Twitter on Sunday evening, writing ,"Greetings from Exile! A quick, overwhelmed, stunned THANK YOU for support that feels like a global hug & obviously left me tweetless XO."
