Mariah Carey may have fans across the world but she has at least two people in Oakland who aren't big admirers of hers.
The queen of divas is being sued in a San Francisco court by two aspiring songwriters from the East Bay, according to SF Weekly.
Preston Marshall and Demario Driver say they really wrote the song "My Love," performed by Carey and The Dream. The suit alleges the Oakland-based artists recorded their song "Are You the One" in their own recording studio in 2008 and Jeff Huffman of Real Content Media, one of the named co-defendants, said he liked the song and he wanted to get a big name to produce it.
After reportedly sending Huffman several versions of the song the duo say they never heard back from him. But that was not the last they heard of their song.
In fact they say they heard their song with a new name being performed by Carey and The Dream. Now Marshall and Driver want to live out there dream: get paid $450,000.
