The Metropolitan Transportation Commission wants Bay Area commuters to turn to alert.511.org in the event of another BART work stoppage.
511.org measure traffic congestion and posts it in real time using information from Caltrans, the California Highway Patrol and various transit operators. In addition, 511 monitors FasTrak sensors and loop detectors place under roadways to help deliver real-time traffic updates.
