A bus caught fire at a gas station in San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood Monday afternoon, fire officials said.
The fire, which created black plumes of smoke, was initially reported at 2:32 p.m. at a Chevron gas station at Ninth and Howard streets.
Police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza advised people to avoid the area while crews put out the fire. The flames were extinguished around 3 p.m.
The bus was empty during the fire and no injuries were reported, according to the fire department.
