A bicyclist who had a collision with a SUV July 27 in West San Jose has been declared brain dead.
Campbell resident Alejandro Ramos, 50, was found in the W.Campbell Avenue and Paseo de Saratoga area by police, and taken to the local hospital. It is expected that Ramos will be removed from life support in the coming days, police said.
It is not clear if the driver of the SUV intentionally left the area after hitting the bicyclist or if they were even aware of the collision, police said.
Detectives are asking any residents who were at or near the Paseo de Saratoga shopping center at around 10 p.m., who may have seen a white, small or mid-size SUV collide with a bicyclist to contact the Police department at 408-277-4654 or on the crime stoppers website.
