Contra Costa County firefighters not only battled a pallet factory fire in Pittsburg on Thursday morning, but they also livestreamed some of their efforts on Periscope.
The two-alarm fire was reported at 3 a.m. on 600 Industry Road, and what made it more dangerous was a live wire dangling overhead. Crews put out the fire in about an hour.
Battalion Chief Robert Marshall said it was hard to say at this point of the fire was accidental or not.
Periscope is a new live video streaming app, bought by Twitter. The livestream can be seen during the broadcast, but is not saved forever.
