Facebook's Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg is leaning in the direction of a new mission — ending childhood hunger in the Bay Area.
Sandberg has partnered with Second Harvest Food Bank on the Stand Up For Kids Campaign. The goal is to raise $7 million dollars to feed Bay Area children and families.
"For 50 cents you can provide a nutritious need to a family," Sandberg said.
One in three children in the Bay Area faces hunger.
"This problem is unacceptable," Sandberg said. "I think people don’t realize, who live here, that there is so much hunger. How pervasive hunger is in the Bay Area."
