Greek Restaurant Goes Mexican for April Fools Day

Souvla, a Greek restaurant in San Francisco has turned into a taqueria for the day.

If you see Juan, the donkey star of San Francisco Ballet's "Don Quixote," in front of the Hayes Street eatery on Friday afternoon, it's to help complete the temporary transformation to La Souvlaria for the second year in a row.

Today the eatery's usual pitas have been swapped for tortillas. La Souvlaria is offering pork carnitas, lamb leg mole, chicken verde and roasted sweet potato tacos and salads, washed down with Cervezas, Tecates, Mexican Coke and Jarritos sodas. Guacamole, nachos and dulce de leche frozen yogurt are also specials.

The restaurant will become Souvla again on Saturday.
