Police continue to investigate how a 61-year-old woman suffered fatal injuries at the Livermore Premium Outlets.
Arizona-resident Marjorie Hillerman was found lying unconscious and suffering from head injuries in the parking lot of the outlet mall earlier this month.
"What I fear happened is someone wanted something she had or they hit her with a car and left out of fear," said Pamela Olmstead, a friend who worked with Hillerman as a fellow mystery shopper.
Livermore police said they are not sure how Hillerman got the fatal injuries. Police said a four-door sedan was seen leaving the area, but so far they have been unable to locate any witnesses.
"It's my hope somebody's going to be watching this and say "I saw that incident, I saw what happened" and come forth and tell somebody so we can find out what happened," Olmstead said.
The Independent Mystery Shopper Coalition on Tuesday sent out safety warnings to other mystery shoppers.
"If it happened to her it could happen to all of us," Olmstead said.

Olmstead said Hillerman was one of the best in the business -- her ability to shop and rate businesses without being detected earned her the nickname "the master of disguise."
