A Northern California man convicted of a series of crimes, including attempted murder and the theft of celebrity chef Guy Fieri's Lamborghini, was sentenced Thursday to life in prison plus 21 years and four months.
Max Wade, 19, was found guilty in October of attempted murder, vehicle theft and other crimes. He was charged in Marin County Superior Court as an adult even though he was under 18 at the time the crimes were committed, the paper said.
In court, Wade showed no reaction to the harsh sentence. His attorney said Wade will be eligible for parole in about 17 years.
Attorney Charles Dresow said Wade was prepared for the worst. He described Wade as a lonely child with a difficult upbringing.
“He had problems at school and was out of school at a very young age,” Dresow said. “There was sort of a rising level of this kind of attention-grabbing behavior."
Among Wade's crimes was a drive-by shooting that occurred on April 13, 2012, in Mill Valley.
Wade was convicted of firing at a truck occupied by two acquaintances — Landon Wahstrom, 18, and Eva Dedier, 17, of San Rafael.
Prosecutors alleged that Wade desired Dedier and was jealous that she was with Wahlstrom.

"He doesn't seem to be very remorseful about it at all,” said Marin County Sheriff’s Detective Greg Garrett. “That's bad. It is kind of sad for someone that was 17 years old when he did this to be looking at this incredible prison sentence. He did plan it out very carefully, as the DA said, even more than many of the adult offenders we've seen."
The investigation of the shooting led detectives to Wade's storage locker, where he was keeping the $200,000 sports car stolen from Fieri, known for his Food Network show "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives."
The Lamborghini was taken in 2011 while it was at a San Francisco dealership. It was stolen by a burglar who rappelled from a high window, authorities said.
