A new BART train derailed Friday afternoon during testing in the East Bay, officials said.
The incident was reported just before 2 p.m. at BART's testing track, located between the South Hayward and Union City stations.
Authorities said BART was training operators on the new trains, which travel at 5 to 10 mph on the testing tracks.
No injuries were reported and the operator was the only person on board.
BART said it is not known what caused the accident.
Crews were able to get the train back on the testing track around 4:45 p.m.
No other information was immediately available.
