Hundreds of guns, rifles and other weapons are off the streets in San Francisco Saturday night thanks to a Bay Area gun buyback program.
Gun owners were able to turn in as many as five guns at the Gleneagles Golf Course with no questions asked. Organizers said their goal is to get guns out of homes, off the streets, and away from criminals.
People who turned in their guns received up to $200 cash per weapon. The money comes from San Francisco elected officials and other donors.
The guns will be melted down.
