Neighborhood eateries and bars were bathed in a sea of red when SantaCon — a gathering of people dressed as the jolly fellow — returned to San Francisco Saturday.

The pub crawl lasted from noon to 12 a.m. and caught some BART and Caltrain riders by surprise.
Aside from packed public transportation stops, Santa Clauses could be seen shopping, having coffee, walking their dog — also dressed as Santa Claus — and eating at any of the local stops along the route:

Organizers also asked that participants bring a new, unwrapped toy for the San Francisco Fire Department Toys Drive.
