Authorities in Sunnyvale are looking for the public's help identifying a suspected package thief caught on surveillance video stealing mail and a couple of oranges from a resident's front yard.
The man seen in the video posted to YouTube can be seen walking up to the home. He picks up a package the resident says USPS had just delivered. He then casually walks back to his car and places the package inside the vehicle on the passenger side.
At some point he must have noticed the orange trees on the property, because after putting the loot in the car, he returns to one of the fruit trees and helps himself to a couple of oranges.
It happened on Thursday afternoon at about 3:30 p.m., according to the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
It's not clear who was driving the car or if there were other passengers, authorities said.
Anyone who can help identify the suspect or the vehicle in the video is asked to contact the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety.
