Famed artist Thomas Kinkade was sentenced to 10 days in jail for driving drunk in Carmel back in June, according to KSBW in Salinas.
It reported lawyers for "the painter of light" entered a no contest plea on his behalf in Monterey County Friday. That is a change from Kincade's originally plea of not guilty to the charge.
The artist, 52, was arrested in Carmel on suspicion of drunken driving on June 11.
Prosecutors said his blood-alcohol level was more than double the legal limit, which is considered an enhanced violation.
In addition to the short jail time, Kincade was also ordered to attend a nine-month DUI offender program, serve five years of informal court probation and pay a $1,846 fine.
Kinkade did not appear in court for Friday's hearing.
