A three-alarm fire burned in a storage yard Wednesday evening in unincorporated Contra Costa County outside Martinez, according to the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District said.
The fire was reported at 6:34 p.m. in the 2400 block of Franklin Canyon Road.
The blaze started in a storage yard full of RVs and boats and surrounded by vegetation, grass, some vineyards and large structures on both sides, according to Contra Costa Fire Battalion Chief Steve Hill.
The fire was contained within an hour, thanks to a massive mutual aid response, he said.
Five or six RVs and one boat were destroyed, and one container burned, Hill said.
There were no injuries, and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
No additional information was immediately available.
