A doctor at the University of California at San Francisco who went to Liberia in November has returned from his trip overseas, where he trained village medical staff how to prevent the spread of Ebola and properly put on protective gear.
Dr. Phouc Le got home from Monrovia just after Thanksgiving, and said his quarantine period after meeting with one Ebola patient is over, he said.
He is still monitoring his health every day for the 21-day recommended period, while he reunites with his wife and 2-year-old daughter, Anya, in San Francisco.
"I can't deny that I've hugged my daughter but I've also made sure to check my temperature many more times than twice a day," he said.
So far, so good. "I have not had any symptoms, not even a runny nose since I've been back. So I feel good."
Le left in early November, saying that helping Ebola patients is a matter of "social justice."
