A woman reported being grabbed and groped early Thursday morning on the campus of San Francisco State University.
School officials sent out emails and texts to students notifiying them of the report: The woman called campus police at 12:42am saying that a man forcefully grabbed her on the campus pathway between Burk Hall and the Student Health Center and pulled her into the bushes next to the Burk Hall trash bins.
The man then pressed an unknown sharp object against her side, lifted her shirt, and roughly grabbed her breasts and groin area for more a minute, the university said in its alert.
The woman began to cry and the suspect told her to “shut up." He then ran away in an unknown direction.
Before that, the woman noticed the man had been sitting at the metal tables by the exterior restaurants at the Cesar Chavez Student Center.
In an interview on Thursday, Luoluo Hong, vice president of student affairs, would not say if the woman was a student, but did say she was a "member of the San Francisco State community."
The woman described the suspect as man in his late 20’s, standing 5 feet 7 inches tall, medium build, wearing a grey hoodie-style sweatshirt and blue jeans.
