Over the last three years California has suffered from the worst drought in more than a millennium, researchers say, NBC News reported. Researchers from the University of Minnesota and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution analyzed tree ring and soil moisture data and found that a dry spell this bad hasn't hit the Golden State in more than 1,200 years. Although rain has pummeled much of California recently, a state climatologist told NBC News that rain storms would have to hit the state every three to five days for the next three months to make an impact.
