Alexa for Kids: Amazon Aims to Help Parents With New Device

The company stressed that third-party app developers don't get access to a child's data or information

Amazon unveiled the Echo Dot Kids Edition on Wednesday, telling NBC News that the device is meant to help children spend less time in front of screens and reinforce good manners.

The device also has parental controls, time limits and activity review.

The company stressed that third-party app developers don't get access to a child's data or information.

A spokesman said Amazon does not "share any information, we don't share audio recordings or any identifiable personal information to those developers."
