In the market for an iPhone, or a new cable provider for that matter? You might want to wait until next week.
Apple has sent out the invitations to its next media event and the speculation is already building. Steve Jobs and company will unveil its latest line of mystery gadgets on Sept. 1 at 9 a.m. in San Francisco.
Speculation is growing that Apple could introduce the long rumored two-camera, FaceTime ready iPod Touch. There are also reports that Jobs might pull the veil back on new features to Apple TV. Could Apple's cable fantasy finally come true?
The company has long been eyeing the possibility of taking a bite out of Hulu and Netflix's online success. Reports surfaced in 2009 that Jobs was pitching television executives about the idea of allowing "iTV" users to download their favorite shows for 99 cents an episode.
It was reported in Nov. 2009 that the service would go live in 2010. But at the time, Disney was reported to be the only company showing any interest in the idea. Jobs sits on Disney's board.
Apple of course could be lining up to take a run at Skype and just add FaceTime to Apple TV.
