Cupertino, home of Apple Headquarters, will be remembering Steve Jobs, on the one year anniversary of the co-founder's death, Friday.
Cupertino Mayor Mark Santoro, has ordered that the flag of the city be flown at half staff, at the Cupertino Civic Center, where Steve Jobs made his last public presentation to the Cupertino City Council on June 6, 2011, a press release said.
“Steve grew up and went to school in Cupertino. As his company and vision grew, so our entire community came to realize we can change the world for the better,” said Mayor Santoro. “Placing our city flag at half staff is a small reminder of the profound and very local impact this man had on our community.”
The city flag will be half staff from 7 AM until 2:30 PM on Friday, October 5, 2012.
Steve Jobs died last year after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 56.
