President Lands at SFO, Prepares for Meeting With Apple CEO

President Barack Obama has arrived at San Francisco International Airport.

The president is in California as part of a two-day swing to raise money for the Democratic party and campaign for Sen. Barbara Boxer, who is in a tight race with Republican Carly Fiorina. His trip will also include meetings with local dignitaries, including Apple CEO Steve Jobs.

The president and Jobs are scheduled to meet for 45 minutes at a hotel in San Francisco. White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said Mr. Obama requested the meeting to talk about the state of the economy and the integration of technology.

Obama is scheduled to attend an evening fundraiser Thursday night, then head to Los Angeles where he will attend a rally Friday.

The president has vigorously stepped up his campaigning in recent days with fellow Democrats facing the specter of losing control of the House or Senate -- or both -- to Republicans on Nov. 2.
