Facebook + Skype = 1 billion?
It was only a matter of time wasn't it? One of the oldest rumors going finally became virtual reality on Thursday. And it's an equation that simply makes sense.
Facebook and Skype are now officially bedfellows. Skype announced on its blog Thursday that is has integrated the Face bookNews Feeds and phonebook into its video calling software, so now you cannot only stalk your friends, but you can see them too.
With the new integration, Skype users will be able to see their friends Facebook news feed updates, post status updates to Facebook, comment and like friends updates and wall posts, call Facebook friends and make free Skype-to-Skype calls without ever leaving the comfort of Skype.
For Facebook, the move is part of a larger integration plan the company has implemented. Earlier this week, the Palo Alto-based social networking site announced a partnership with Microsoft Bing.
The new version of Skype will only be available on Windows for now.
