Anchor and reporter Scott McGrew thrives at the intersection of entrepreneurship and venture capital. He is host of Press:Here, a weekly roundtable featuring world class technology reporters in conversation with Silicon Valley CEOs. Press:Here airs on NBC Bay Area Sunday mornings at 9am right after Meet the Press. Joining Scott each week is a team of contributors including reporters from the BBC, Forbes, Fortune, Wired, the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal.
Scott was the first journalist to reveal the crimes behind the death of a South Bay Marine in Afghanistan and the only reporter in the world allowed to fly F-16 combat air patrol as part of Operation Enduring Freedom following 9/11.
He's been an eyewitness to a firing squad and chased greased pigs at the Iowa State Fair. Scott is an active speaker on technology and television at Stanford, Brigham Young and other universities as well as numerous conferences.
He is also a regular emcee and host for the Ernst and Young’s Northern California Entrepreneur of the Year, the Global CleanTech Forum, United Way and the Boy Scouts. He also helps foster excellent business journalism as a judge the UCLA’s Gerald Loeb awards.
Scott is a part-time Cessna 172 pilot, MIG and TIG welder, CSS coder and a lector in the Episcopal Church. None of which he does very well, he claims, but he says he's trying.
