Over the past 28 years, we have honored women executives from companies such as Adobe Systems, Applied Materials, Hewlett Packard, Lockheed Martin, IBM Corporation, Cisco Systems, Xilinx and Oracle, as well as a cross-section of outstanding small and mid-size growth companies from a variety of industries such as government, legal, financial services, venture capital, bio technology and clean technology.

Discover Petaluma’s Hidden Gems During National Preservation Month of May
The National Trust for Historic Preservation has celebrated May as National Preservation Month since 2005, encouraging communities to celebrate their rich, diverse heritage and draw more Americans into the growing national preservation movement. This year the Petaluma Arts Center is sponsoring a lecture series that draws attention to the many architectural treasures in our community.
All programs are held in the Petaluma Arts Center Community Room. Admission is free with a suggested donation of $5.00.

10th Annual Bay Area Walk Now for Autism Speaks
UC Berkeley Professor Michael Omi to Speak at Sunnyvale Library
Michael Omi, Ph.D., Professor of Asian American Studies in UC Berkeley’s Ethnic Studies Department, will speak on Monday, May 14, 2012 at 7 p.m. at Sunnyvale Public Library about the backstory of racial politics leading to the moving of Japanese Americans living on the West Coast to internment camps during WWII.
On Wednesday, May 23 at 7 p.m., all are invited to read and discuss the book, Farewell to Manzanar, written by Jeanne Wakatsuki Houston on her experiences as a child incarcerated at a Japanese internment camp.
These programs are supported by Searching for Democracy, an initiative of Cal Humanities in partnership with the California Center for the Book and the California State Library.
