The critically acclaimed Ao Dai Festival III (ADF3), a celebration of Vietnamese Art and Culture is fast becoming an established tradition in downtown San Jose, as this year’s May 4, 2014 event marks the third biennial festival. The festival will bring traditional cultures outside of Vietnam for the first time when it recreates "Vinh Quy Bai To," a traditional wedding wedding ceremony. Te special ceremony will be free to the public and include 100 men and women in traditional costume, drummers, women on stilts, a colorful dragon dance, and more.
Ticket holders for the evening event will be treated to a lavish cocktail reception in the foyer of the Fairmont Hotel with the music of jazz chanteuse Thuy Linh and her quartet. The “Designers promenade” introduces celebrated ao dai fashion masters: Vo Viet Chung, Diep Quoc Thanh, Khanh Shyna and Duc Hung from Vietnam and local designers Debbie Nghiem, Ella Viet and Daniella Do. The highlight of the evening will be a formal dinner program features the music of emmy-award winner Vanessa Van-Anh Vo, the premier of “Yearning Mountain” poetry in motion musical story, superstar diva My Linh, and culminating with the dazzling fashion show extravaganza of ao dai models.
