The Valor Games Far West is a sports competition for Veterans and active duty service members who have a disability and eligible for VA healthcare. From June 3rd to the 6th disabled Veterans and service members can learn adaptive sports techniques to compete on the Coast Guard Island in Alameda, CA. This year’s sports competition include: cycling, power lifting, archery, indoor rowing, biathlon, paratriathlon, and even swimming!
The local organizing committee is Far West Wheelchair Athletic Association has provided sport and recreation opportunities to individuals with physical disabilities in the region for more than 40 years. Seven Paralympic Sport Clubs will manage the competitions each day and meet the Veterans in their communities, engaging them for future opportunities to be active throughout the year. The event is designed to be a catalyst for this interaction and ongoing athlete development.
