What to Know: Alameda County Voters to Fill Board Seat Left Vacant by Tragedy

In the June 7 primary election, voters in Alameda, San Leandro and Oakland will choose a candidate to replace Wilma Chan, the Board of Supervisors member who died tragically after she was struck by a car while walking her dog last November. Chan was the only woman, and the only Asian-American, on the 5-member Alameda County board.
