Republican vice presidential candidate J.D. Vance of Ohio visited the Bay Area for a fundraiser on Monday.
The U.S. senator hosted a fundraiser reception at a private home in Palo Alto.
A source told NBC Bay Area on Monday the event, which took place at BitGo CEO Mike Belshe’s home, attracted more than 100 people, each contributing between $3,300 a plate and a round table discussion for $25,000.
James Taylor at political science professor at the University of San Francisco said it’s all about the dollars that can be raised.
“It comes down to the dollar sign, that’s what you see in Silicon Valley,” Taylor said. “It's not a moral philosophical alignment, but self-interest.”
One Vance supporter who attended the fundraiser, spoke to NBC Bay Area after it ended.
"He was relevant and personal and told us what we wanted to hear and we are with Trump and Vance all the way!" the supporter said.
There was a dozen of Trump and Vance supporters that waited for hours for a glimpse of his motorcade.

“We love Trump! As a black mom, as a black mother, he represents my values of faith, freedom and liberty,” said Nancy Githoitho with San Francisco Moms for America.
There was also a handful of protesters, who made their opinion known.

Meanwhile, Kamala Harris’ campaign has raised upwards of $200 million in just a week.
NBC News confirmed that the Harris campaign is considering eight candidates to be her running mate, including Arizona Senator Mark Kelly, Pennsylvania Governor Josh, Shapiro and North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper.
On Sunday, Harris’ San Francisco pastor Reverend Amos Brown called for a civil campaign season. He is the latest faith leader to do so.
Vance is expected to attend a Central Valley fundraising event on Wednesday.
