Oakland Mayor recall vote explained
Oakland is the largest city to have a mayoral recall since 2011 when it was done in Miami. Mayor Sheng Thao is the first mayor in more than a century to face a recall in Oakland after critics said she has failed to lead, made the city unsafe, and has ongoing budget issues. NBC Bay Area’s Raj Mathai spoke with Dan Lindheim, a professor at the University of California, Berkeley and former Oakland city administrator, to understand the recall.
