After touring extensively with recently reunited experimental rockers Faith No More over the past two years, longtime San Francisco-based musician Mike Patton returns to the local stage tonight to front yet another new project: a live collaboration with Australian avant-noise duo PIVIXKI. The one-off show is just the latest in an unusually long lineage of projects for the prolific vocalist, label owner and actor. From tinnitus-inducing jams with Jazz legend John Zorn to forays into hip hop with Anticon's Jel and Doseone to experiments in purely sensual music making with Dan the Automator, get to know the eccentric crooner's various musical incarnations above.
Mike Patton and PIVIXKI perform at Great American Music Hall tonight; tickets are $21 and doors are at 8 p.m.
