Mark Zuckerberg Buys $7M Palo Alto Crib

Mark Zuckerberg, whose estimated net worth is $13.5 billion, is finally a first-time home owner.  While other Silicon Valley tech billionaires such as Larry Ellison and Steve Jobs reportedly own massive multi-million dollar properties in the area, the Facebook CEO is a notorious month-to-month renter.  Zuckerberg even told a New Yorker writer last year that he peruses Craigslist to find prime rental properties.

According to the Mercury News, Zuckerberg and his girlfriend Priscilla Chan are decamping from their very modest Palo Alto, CA rental home to a $7 million residence. The 5,617 square foot digs is a major upgrade for the baby-faced CEO. Located in the affluent Palo Alto's Crescent Park 'hood, the 1903 historic house, which recently underwent extensive renovations, boasts five bedrooms, 5.5 baths, salt-water swimming pool, music alcove, and a large entertainment pavilion. Zuckerberg's new home is only a 10-minute drive from Facebook's new headquarters in Menlo Park.

While plunking down $7 million for a home is chump change to a billionaire like Zuckerberg, this lifestyle change will most likely not alter his modest public persona. Zuckerberg is often spotted in local restaurants and stores attempting to blend in with the average, non-billionaire population.
