Bill Gates Down on the Farm

Microsoft chairman Bill Gates will speak at Stanford University on April 19 about the worldwide need to improve health care, strengthen education and fight poverty.
     
The 2010 Payne Distinguished Lecture, "Giving Back: Finding the Best Way to Make a Difference," is part of Gates' three-day, five-campus tour to promote the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to help disadvantaged people  in the nation and abroad.
     
The free event is sponsored by Stanford's Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies.
     
Stanford students, faculty, staff and alumni may pick up tickets at the Stanford Ticket Office at Tresidder Union.
     
The event will take place at 5 p.m. in Memorial Auditorium at 551 Serra Mall.
