CHP said the collision happened at around 2:46 p.m. at the intersection of Uvas and Watsonville roads. A man driving a motorcycle with one passenger rode through a stop sign while turning onto Watsonville Road, according to CHP, which led to a collision with a car driving on the road.
Both the motorcycle driver and his passenger were knocked off the bike, CHP said. The driver died on-site, but first responders air-lifted the passenger to a hospital. Her injuries are described as "major."
The person driving the car was not injured in the collision.
Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call CHP at 408-427-0700 and provide a statement with respect to Officer Ruiz or PIO Officer Uribe.
