Two people were killed and two others were injured in a head-on crash on Highway 116 in Sonoma County early Saturday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision, which involved a sedan and an SUV, happened at around 12:11 this morning near Sebastopol, CHP said.
In a statement put out on social media, the sedan was travelling eastbound when it drifted into the opposing lane and collided with the SUV.
The driver and front passenger in the sedan died on-site. The back passenger in the sedan and the SUV's driver were both transported to the hospital with injured described as "major," according to CHP.
The cause of the crash is now under investigation.
