Two drop-in vaccination sites in San Francisco quickly ran out of the COVID-19 shots reserved for walk-ins Saturday morning due to high demand.
Health officials at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Southeast Health Center said they gave out every dose of the COVID-19 vaccine by 10:30 a.m., just 90 minutes after the clinics opened their doors.
The rush came after The City of San Francisco opened eligibility on Friday to those 16 and over in eight specific zip codes, where the pandemic has hit the hardest.

Between the two sites, there were 1,300 doses on hand. An hour and a half after opening, they were all gone.
Several people who were waiting in line posted on social media that they left the clinics frustrated.
The drop-in sites will be open again Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on a first come, first served basis. Officials said they expect to get more doses then.
Residents can still try to register for a vaccine appointment online.
