With the latest storm making its last rounds in the Bay Area, high winds and heavy rain continue damaging part of the region.
A shelter in place was issued for residents in Novato around 2:45 a.m. due to significant flooding, police said.
Multiple roads also closed as a result including South Novato Blvd from Nave to Lark Ct, Commercial Blvd and Simmons Lane.
La Honda Road in San Mateo County is blocked in both directions at Fox Hill Road due to a downed tree, officials said.
Authorities ask commuters use alternative routes as there is no estimated time of reopening.
Morning commuters should also plan ahead as a closed-off southbound lane on Highway 17 in the Santa Cruz Mountains will not reopen until Thursday afternoon.
The storm brought down the hillside and a tree near Sugarloaf Road Wednesday and the backup stretched for miles.

Drivers heading toward Santa Cruz from the Santa Clara Valley were stuck for hours.
"It’s horrible," said Vanessa Santiago. "Last year I saw the same thing, so it’s pretty rough trying to get home now."
Drivers heading from Santa Cruz to the Santa Clara Valley are in the clear as both northbound lanes are open.
