An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.0 shook the East Bay on Sunday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake struck at 11:52 a.m. and was centered about a mile northwest of Castro Valley along the Hayward Fault, the USGS said.
People who felt the temblor said it was a quick jolt, and those working in shops along Castro Valley Boulevard reported seeing the windows rattle and feeling the floor move.
No injuries or damage were immediately reported.
