About 50,000 PG&E Customers Out of Power in Mendocino County

About 50,000 customers are out of power in Mendocino County as Mendocino Complex Fire continues to ravage neighborhoods, PG&E confirmed late Saturday night.

Reports of power outages in the city of Ukiah came in around 10:30 p.m. and reports of the outage spreading to the entire county of Mendocino came in shortly after, Karly Hernandez from PG&E said.

Though the outage is in area affected by the wildfire, the cause of the outage has not been determined to be due to the flames.

PG&E confirmed that the outage is not due to a proactive public safety power shut off where the company shuts off power due to extreme weather.

The cause is still under investigation and it is unknown when power will be restores.

No additional information was immediately available.
