AC Transit bus stops in downtown Oakland along Broadway will be temporarily relocated for the next three months during the construction of new bus station platforms.
Starting Monday, bus stops on northbound Broadway between 12th Street and Thomas L. Berkley Way (20th Street) will be shifted to Franklin Street.
The move allows AC Transit to start construction on four bus rapid transit station platforms.
These stations are the final phases of major construction for the East Bay's first-ever bus rapid-transit system.
The work means the designated bus stops on Broadway will be shifted to Franklin Street through late December.
Newly relocated stops start at Franklin and 12th Streets and continue through 15th Street. AC Transit Lines that will service the newly established northbound stops are: 6, 12, 18, 33, 51A, 72, 72M, 72R, 611, 801, 840, and 851.
Although the construction will permit buses to operate along southbound Broadway, stops between 12th and 14th streets at Oakland City Center will be decommissioned. To accommodate southbound Broadway travelers, a stop has been erected at 15th Street and Broadway. AC Transit Lines that will service the newly established southbound stop are: 33, 801, and 840.

AC Transit's All-Nighter Owl Service will also undergo temporary bus stop relocation through late December 2019. Night Owl Lines 800, 801, 802, 805, 840, and 851 will shift bus transfers from 14th Street and Broadway
to the Uptown Transit Center, located at Broadway and Thomas L. Berkley Way (20th Street).
A map that highlighting Broadway's temporarily decommissioned stops, relocated stops onto Franklin Street, and the new Night Owl transfer center is available on the AC Transit website.
In addition to an array of temporary bus stop signage, AC Transit will staff downtown Oakland with street ambassadors to assist riders.
