Activists targeted San Francisco city leader Scott Weiner Saturday calling on him to help make rents more affordable.
About 50 people rallied at Harvey Milk Plaza. They then marched to the home of supervisor Weiner. Weiner represents the Castro and part of the Mission District.
Marchers believe those neighborhoods need more homes for renters, not condos.
"To protect our affordable rental stock by placing stricter and enforceable regulations on Airbnb," Harvey Milk LGBT Democratic Club spokesman Lee Hepner said. "And by supporting measures that would demonstrably limit low cause evictions."
The same group plans to protest again at Tuesday's board of supervisors meeting.
They believe San Francisco should develop a community based plan for affordable housing.
